Versus / TSN Hockey TV Schedules … Fair and Balanced? Riiiight!
Written by Bill on August 17th, 2008 | 6 CommentsI wonder who, how or what picks the TV schedule for the networks that broadcast the NHL games on TV. Seriously, is there a person, a computer program or a monkey picking these games to show on TV. NHL Retirement Announcements - The Waiting Game
Written by Bill on August 8th, 2008 | 0 CommentsWith the world waiting on a few players to decide if they are going to play or not in the upcoming year … I sit back and ponder, How in the HELL do you take so much time deciding if you are going to play the BEST game on earth. Granted, I have never “played” in the NHL … I was employed by the San Jose Sharks for their 03/04 season, and I woke up every morning, looked at myself in the mirror and said “HEY – you are part of an NHL franchise!!! How incredible are you?” It was the BEST year of my life (until I met my wife of course!) Continue reading...

They are calling it “Wayne Gretzky Week” in honor of his trade that “changed the game.” On August 9th, 1988 … Gretzky was traded from the Edmonton Oilers to the Los Angeles Kings (keep in mind Edmonton just won the cup … and the Kings, well, they were the Kings back then too!). Gretzky becoming a King changed the franchise overnight and was one of the main reasons the NHL was able to expand into new “non-traditional” markets. Continue reading...
